Sculptra

Bringing Back That Youthful Fullness

Sculptra is an injectable dermal filler that was approved by the FDA for aesthetic use in 2014. The main ingredient in Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) which is classified as a collagen stimulator that provides long-lasting, natural-looking results that can last up to two years.

Wrinkles on the face can be lessened by injecting Sculptra into the skin. It contains PLLA, which works as a collagen stimulator and helps to slowly fill out wrinkles and folds in the skin. This makes the skin look smoother and younger. You might see results right away, but it may take a few months to see the treatment in full effect.

Here at WIFH, we will help you figure out how many sessions you need to get the best results. On average, most of our patients receive three injections over the course of three or four months.

Preparing For Sculptra

What Happens to During a Sculptra Treatment?

On the day of your first Sculptra treatment, one of our experts will map the injection sites on the skin and will clean the area where the injections will be given. A local anesthetic may be used to ease any pain, and then your doctor will give you several small injections.

Most people can get Sculptra injections and go back to their normal lives right away. Most side effects, like swelling and bruises, are mild and go away in a few days. Here are some tips below to help you feel better faster:
  • Within the first 24 hours, put a cold pack on the sore area for a few minutes at a time
  • Following treatment, massage the area for five minutes at a time, five times a day, for five days
  • Don’t get too much sun or use tanning beds until the redness and swelling have gone away
