Inner Thigh Liposuction: Cost, Recovery & Results

Table of Contents

One of the more popular areas for patients to be treated for Smartlipo is the inner thigh area. One of the primary complaints we hear from patients is in regard to chafing due to the rubbing together of the inner thighs. Smartlipo is a minimally invasive method of inner thigh liposuction we preform here at WIFH.

Smartlipo for the inner thighs is ideal for patients who are healthy, within 20-25 pounds of their ideal body weight, and have not been able to achieve the results they desire with regular diet and exercise.

Cost of Inner Thigh Lipo

The cost of the Smartlipo procedure for the inner thighs will vary based on where the patient undergoes the procedure. A typical price range for Smartlipo to the inner thighs is between $3,600 and $4,600.

During the Procedure

To begin the Smartlipo procedure, the surgeon will create one small access puncture through the skin in the patient’s upper groin area. This access puncture will be made on both thighs.

Through the these openings, numbing solution is injected followed by a thin laser cannula. The laser melts and liquifies the fat cells (adipose). During this process, the laser also creates enough heat that is absorbed by the skin, causing the skin to tighten1. Once the fat in the inner thighs is melted, aspiration or suction is applied, and the fat is removed.

Post-Procedure Recovery

Because Smartlipo is minimally invasive, it requires significantly less down time than a traditional invasive procedure2.  Patients will still experience swelling and tenderness in the inner thigh area, and a compression garment will need to be worn for 3 weeks post-procedure. Patients may also experience some mild bruising. The swelling, soreness, and tenderness should resolve fully in about 1 month.

Patients will be able to resume normal activities within 1-2 days, and light exercise 3-5 days post-procedure.

Expected Results

Once the swelling begins to subside, patients typically begin to see a noticeable reduction in the size of the inner thigh area. While results vary from patient-to-patient, final results are expected 3 to 6 months following surgery.
