Say Goodbye to Wrinkles & Hello to Youthful Volume with Dermal Fillers
Aging is a fact of life—but looking older doesn’t have to be! At WIFH, we help patients smooth wrinkles, restore lost volume, and keep their skin looking fresh and youthful.
As we age, our skin naturally loses collagen, the essential protein that keeps it firm and elastic. In fact, after the age of 20, we lose about 1% of our collagen every year—leading to fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss. Genetics and lifestyle choices can speed up this process, but the good news? You have options to fight back!
From laugh lines to lip lines and hollowed cheeks to temples, dermal fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, and Sculptra can restore lost volume and rejuvenate your appearance. Whether you’re looking to smooth wrinkles or add subtle plumpness, fillers are a quick, effective way to turn back the clock—without surgery!
In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know about dermal fillers, how they work, and which ones are best for different areas of the face. Keep reading to find out which filler is right for you!
Juvederm for Wrinkles: A Natural, Effective Solution
Juvederm is a popular hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler designed to reduce wrinkles and restore facial volume. Hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the skin, eyes, and joints, makes Juvederm an ideal option for achieving a natural look and feel. The gel texture of Juvederm allows it to seamlessly blend into the skin, providing immediate results, with full effectiveness visible within two weeks.
At WIFH, we believe that the best Juvederm filler for each patient depends on their individual facial structure, previous treatments, and the amount of volume loss they’ve experienced. We offer a range of Juvederm products tailored to address different areas of the face, such as fine lines, deep wrinkles, and volume loss in the cheeks, around the corners of the mouth, and in the lips. One key feature of all our Juvederm treatments is the “XC” label, which indicates that each filler contains lidocaine for a more comfortable injection experience. Whether you’re targeting wrinkles or restoring volume, Juvederm offers a versatile and effective solution for facial rejuvenation.
Below are the types of Juvederm XC dermal fillers we use:
Formulation | Treats | Lasts | FDA-Approved? |
---|---|---|---|
Juvederm XC | Ideal for smoothing lines around the nose and mouth, specifically the nasolabial folds. | Up to 12 months | Yes |
Juvederm Voluma XC | Restoring volume to the mid-face, including areas like the cheeks, chin, and temples. It’s often used to enhance facial contouring and lift. | Up to 2 years | Yes |
Juvederm Volbella XC | Fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and under eyes, including lip lines and tear troughs. | Up to 1 year | Yes |
Juvederm Vollure XC | High movement areas with fine lines and deep folds, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines around the nose, mouth, lips, and cheeks. | Up to 18 months | Yes |
Juvederm Volux XC | Targets the lower face, including the jawline and chin area, to create a more defined and sculpted look. | Up to 1 year | Yes |
Juvederm Ultra XC | Primarily used for lip enhancement and addressing lines around the chin and mouth. | Up to 1 year | Yes |
Juvederm Ultra Plus XC | Used to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and folds in the mid to lower face, including areas around the nose, mouth, and chin. | Up to 1 year | Yes |
Many of our patients wonder about the differences between the various Juvederm XC fillers. Each formulation is designed with a unique thickness, texture, and viscosity to address specific cosmetic concerns, including lip enhancement, wrinkle reduction, and facial balancing. These variations allow us to target different areas of the face with precision. Whether you’re looking to smooth fine lines, restore volume, define your jawline, or enhance your lips, your injector will carefully select the best Juvederm product to achieve the results you’re looking for.
Juvederm for Lower Face & Chin Wrinkles
Juvederm fillers are an excellent choice for addressing lower face wrinkles and restoring lost volume. They effectively smooth laugh lines (nasolabial folds), which run from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth, as well as marionette lines that start at the corners of the mouth and extend down to the chin. Juvederm can also help restore volume in the chin, improving shadows and creating a more defined, prominent jawline.
To address volume loss or wrinkles in the lower face, we may use any combination of the following Juvederm products:
- Juvederm XC ideal for smoothing fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and chin
- Juvederm Volux XC targets the chin and jawline for enhanced definition and structure
- Juvederm Voluma XC perfect for restoring volume in the mid to lower face, including the cheeks and chin area
- Juvederm Ultra XC commonly used for lip enhancement and treating wrinkles around the chin.
- Juvederm Ultra Plus XC effective for deeper wrinkles and folds in the lower face, including around the mouth and chin

Juvederm for Lip Wrinkles and Enhancement
Juvederm is an ideal solution for adding volume, hydration, and smoothness to the lips. Made from hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the body, Juvederm helps enhance lip fullness while preserving their natural shape. It’s especially effective for smoothing lip lines and restoring youthful volume to the lips.
A common misconception is that lip fillers will result in “duck lips.” However, when administered by a skilled injector, Juvederm provides subtle, natural-looking results. Plus, with Juvederm lip fillers, you can achieve as much or as little volume as you desire, allowing for a personalized treatment that suits your aesthetic goals.
At WIFH, we often use the following Juvederm formulations to enhance the lips:
- Juvederm XC perfect for smoothing fine lines around the lips and adding subtle fullness
- Juvederm Volbella XC ideal smoothing lip lines and providing a natural enhancement to lip shape and volume
- Juvederm Ultra XC used for lip augmentation, offering enhanced fullness and smoothness
- Juvederm Ultra Plus XC effecting for adding more volume and correcting deeper wrinkles in the lips
Juvederm for Under Eye Wrinkles
Juvederm is an excellent option for treating under-eye wrinkles, especially when addressing hollowness or volume loss in the tear trough area. This treatment can effectively reduce the appearance of under-eye wrinkles, dark circles, and shadows, creating a refreshed, rejuvenated look. For the delicate under-eye area, we typically use Juvederm Volbella XC, a softer, more precise filler that provides natural results.
Juvederm for Chest Wrinkles
While some practices may use Juvederm fillers for chest wrinkles, at WIFH, we prefer to use Sculptra, a biostimulator, to treat this area of the body. Unlike traditional fillers, Sculptra works by stimulating the body’s own collagen production, which helps improve the texture and elasticity of the skin over time. For more details on why we choose Sculptra for chest wrinkles, be sure to check out our Sculptra section.
Juvederm Planning & Aftercare
With Juvederm, patients can expect immediate improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, with peak effectiveness typically occurring 2 weeks after treatment. While you’ll notice a difference right away, the full results become more refined and settled as the filler integrates into the skin over this period. Depending on the type of Juvederm filler used and the amount injected, results can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.
After your Juvederm injections, it’s common to experience bruising and swelling. To help minimize these effects, we provide an ice pack immediately after treatment and recommend that patients avoid exercise and alcohol for the rest of the day. These simple steps help reduce swelling and promote a quicker recovery.
For maximum effectiveness, we also recommend:
- Scheduling your appointment at least 2 weeks before any major event.
- Avoiding any dental work 2 weeks before or after getting fillers to prevent the risk of infection.
- Tell your injector if you have a history of fever blisters or cold sores, and we will treat you with an antiviral before your treatment.
Juvederm Skinvive: Hydration and Glow from Within
While not a traditional filler like other types of Juvederm, Juvederm Skinvive is the first and only hyaluronic acid (HA) injectable treatment approved by the FDA to improve skin smoothness and hydration specifically in the cheeks. Unlike traditional fillers that add volume or structure, Skinvive works by enhancing the skin’s internal hydration, leading to a smoother, more radiant complexion that looks naturally refreshed.
This microdroplet injection treatment delivers hyaluronic acid just beneath the skin’s surface, attracting and retaining moisture over time. The result is a visible improvement in skin texture, elasticity, and luminosity, especially in dull or crepey skin. Because it’s not designed to change facial shape or contour, Skinvive is ideal for patients looking for subtle, skin-quality-focused results.
At WIFH, Skinvive is a popular choice for patients seeking to boost hydration, refine the appearance of fine lines, and enhance skin’s overall glow without the added volume. The treatment is quick, minimally invasive, and requires little to no downtime. Most patients see lasting results for up to 6 months, making Skinvive a simple yet effective option to complement your skincare or filler routine.
Using Restylane Fillers for Wrinkles
Restylane, a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler, is an effective solution for addressing wrinkles and volume loss. Similar to Juvederm, it delivers immediate results, smoothing out facial lines and restoring youthful fullness. Whether you’re looking to treat facial folds, hollow cheeks, or the lips, Restylane provides a tailored approach to help rejuvenate your appearance naturally.
Restylane injectables come in various formulations, each designed with one of the brand’s two patented technologies to cater to different treatment needs:
- NASHA® Technology – A firmer gel designed for precision and structure, ideal for areas requiring a more pronounced lift, such as the temples.
- XpresHAn TechnologyTM – A softer, more flexible gel that adapts to facial expressions, making it perfect for dynamic areas like the mouth and smile lines.
At WIFH, we offer a range of Restylane options tailored to meet your specific needs. Here’s a quick breakdown:
Formulation | Treats | Technology | Lasts | FDA-Approved? |
---|---|---|---|---|
Restylane Lyft | Adds volume and contour to the cheeks, smooths nasolabial folds, and rejuvenates the hands | XpresHAn | 6 months to 1 year | Yes |
Restylane Silk | Designed specifically for the lips, Restylane Silk enhances lip volume and smooths fine lines around the mouth for a natural, soft look | NASHA | Up to 6 months | Yes |
Restylane Contour | Restores volume and definition to the cheeks, providing a more lifted and youthful appearance | XpresHAn | Up to 18 months | Yes |
Restylane Eyelight | A specialized formula for the under-eye area, helping to smooth out hollowness and fine lines, offering a refreshed look | NASHA | Up to 18 months | Yes |
Restylane Defyne | Designed for deeper lines and folds. Provides flexibility for a natural-looking result while improving contour and volume in the chin | XpresHAn | Up to 1 year | Yes |
Restylane Refyne | Best for moderate wrinkles and fold, offers a smooth, natural look while maintaining facial movement and expression | XpresHAn | Up to 1 year | Yes |
Restylane Kysse | Provides volume, shape, and smoothness while maintaining lip softness and natural movement | XpresHAn | Up to 1 year | Yes |
Restylane-L | Provides support and structure to the lips and laugh lines | NASHA | Up to 18 months | Yes |
When selecting the best Restylane dermal filler for your needs, we’ll take into account factors such as your age, any other treatments you’re undergoing, the extent of volume loss, and the specific area you’d like to target. Below are some key areas Restylane treats, along with the formulations most effective for each.
Restylane for Lower Face & Chin Wrinkles
If you’re concerned about wrinkles in the lower face and chin, Restylane dermal fillers can provide an excellent solution. Whether you’re looking to smooth marionette lines, fine lines, dimples, or contour your jawline and chin, Restylane offers a variety of options. Our most effective fillers for these areas include:
- Restylane-L
- Restylane Defyne
- Restylane Refyne
Restylane for Lip Wrinkles
Restylane is highly effective for treating lip wrinkles and restoring volume to the lips. It’s especially beneficial for treating perioral lines, often referred to as “smoker’s lines.” To specifically target lip wrinkles, we recommend Restylane Silk and Restylane Kysse, both of which are specially formulated to enhance the lips with natural-looking results. Whether you’re looking to smooth lines or add volume, these fillers are ideal for rejuvenating the lip area.

Restylane for Under Eye Wrinkles
Restylane is an excellent choice for addressing under-eye wrinkles, offering smooth, youthful results. Restylane Eyelight is specifically designed for the delicate under-eye area, targeting both wrinkles and hollows. This FDA-approved treatment uses Restylane’s NASHA® technology to provide a precise, natural-looking correction that lasts. If you’re looking to refresh your under-eye area and diminish tired, hollow eyes, Restylane Eyelight can help restore a youthful appearance.
Restylane for Chest Wrinkles
While many med spas may use Restylane to treat chest wrinkles, at WIFH, we recommend Sculptra injections for more effective results. Sculptra works by stimulating collagen production, which helps improve the appearance of wrinkles on the chest over time. Learn more about how Sculptra can help rejuvenate your chest area in the following section.
Restylane Planning & Aftercare
As with other dermal fillers using hyaluronic acid, patients see results right away with Restylane. Results may last between 6 months to 18 months depending on the type of Restylane filler, the amount of filler injected, and the patient’s age.
Some patients will experience bruising and swelling immediately after Restylane injections. We give patients an ice pack after treatment to help prevent swelling, and also recommend that they avoid exercise and alcohol for the rest of the day.
Much like with Juvederm, we also recommend:
- Scheduling your appointment at least 2 weeks before any major event.
- Avoiding any dental work 2 weeks before or after getting fillers to prevent a risk of infection.
- Telling your injector if you have a history of fever blisters or cold sores; if needed, we will treat you with an antiviral before your treatment.
Using Sculptra for Wrinkles: A Collagen-Boosting Solution
Sculptra is an advanced treatment for wrinkles and volume loss, offering a long-lasting solution for facial areas affected by aging or fat loss. However, Sculptra is not a traditional dermal filler like Juvederm or Restylane. Instead, Sculptra is a biostimulator, utilizing Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to stimulate your body’s natural collagen production.
Unlike hyaluronic acid-based fillers, Sculptra works gradually to restore lost volume and improve skin texture by encouraging the production of collagen over time. This makes Sculptra an ideal choice for patients seeking natural-looking results without the immediate volume change provided by typical fillers.
Sculptra injections are typically administered in areas where volume loss is most noticeable, including the face and body. While the full effects of Sculptra can take anywhere from 6 to 12 months to become visible, most of our patients at WIFH see significant improvement within 6 months. For those who wish to experience more immediate volume restoration during this waiting period, pairing Sculptra with other fillers like Juvederm or Restylane can help achieve instant results.
The longevity of Sculptra results is impressive, with effects typically lasting up to 2 years. However, this can vary depending on factors such as age, lifestyle, and the treated area. To maintain results, most patients require one to two maintenance treatments per year.
Sculptra for Lower Face & Chin Wrinkles
Sculptra is highly effective for treating lower face and chin wrinkles, including nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheek depressions, and chin wrinkles. By stimulating collagen in the deeper layers of the skin, Sculptra enhances the contours of your jawline and chin, softens marionette lines, and improves skin texture. This makes it a top choice for those seeking a smoother, more youthful appearance in the lower face.
Why Sculptra Should Not Be Used for Wrinkles Around the Mouth or Lip Lines
Sculptra is not recommended for treating wrinkles around the mouth or lip lines. While Sculptra is effective at stimulating collagen production for volume loss in deeper layers of the skin, the fine and superficial nature of lip and mouth wrinkles makes this treatment unsuitable for these areas. Injecting
Sculptra in this region can lead to bumps or nodules due to the depth at which it works. For treating wrinkles around the lips, we recommend using hyaluronic acid-based fillers like Juvéderm or Restylane, which are designed for more precise, smoother results in this delicate area.
Why Sculptra Should Not Be Used for Under Eye Wrinkles: Consider PRP or Hyaluronic Acid Fillers Instead
Sculptra is not recommended for treating under-eye wrinkles due to the thin and delicate skin in this area. Injecting Sculptra under the eyes can result in visible bumps or nodules because the collagen stimulation occurs deeper than needed for the under-eye region. Instead, we recommend alternatives like Juvederm or Restylane fillers, which are specifically formulated for sensitive skin and provide excellent results for under-eye wrinkles and hollowness. Another great option is PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), which uses your own natural growth factors to rejuvenate the under-eye area without the risk of lumps or nodules.
Sculptra for Chest Wrinkles: Rejuvenating the Decolletage
Sculptra is an excellent option for reducing chest wrinkles, also known as décolletage wrinkles. Unlike Juvederm and Restylane, which are less effective in this area, Sculptra stimulates collagen production over time, improving skin texture, firmness, and elasticity. Patients will notice a reduction in both vertical and horizontal lines, as well as a smoother, more youthful appearance of the chest area.
Sculptra Planning & Aftercare: What to Expect
After receiving Sculptra injections, most of our patients can return to their normal activities immediately. Common side effects, such as swelling and bruising, are temporary and typically subside in a few days. To ensure optimal results, we recommend following the “5-5-5” method: gently massaging the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days following your treatment. This helps distribute the product evenly and supports the collagen-stimulating process.
For the first week post-treatment it’s important to avoid intense heat, such as saunas, hot tubs, and sun exposure to prevent irritation and optimize healing.
Since Sculptra works gradually over time to stimulate collagen production, we advise scheduling your treatment well in advance of when you want to see results. Most patients require multiple sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart to achieve their desired outcome. Be sure to plan accordingly to ensure the best long-term results.
