SkinCeuticals (Superficial Peels): SkinCeuticals peels are great for skin resurfacing and correction. Patients looking to repair and restore skin, should consider one of the SkinCeuticals peels—each of which includes a deep cleanse, peel application and soothing mask.

Preparing for Chemical Peels
It’s important to remember that an integral part of maintaining healthy skin is using high quality, corrective skin care products and always using sunscreen. Having routine therapeutic/corrective skin treatments will also go a long way in eliminating unwanted pigmentation as well as helping to stave off the aging process.

What to Expect During Chemical Peels
Depending on which peel is chosen for your skin, procedures may vary. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed, then prepped with a medical degreaser to remove any traces of oil. Your clinician will then start applying the peel solution to your skin. Most peels remain on the skin between 3-10 mins, but some are designed to be self-neutralizing and stay on for 4 hours.
Most patients describe feeling a warm, prickly sensation, or mild stinging/itching when the peel is first applied to their skin. This is temporary and subsides after a couple of minutes. After the peel is neutralized and removed, we will apply moisturizer and SPF, when appropriate.

Chemical Peels Recovery Time
The first two days following the peel your skin will feel tight and pigmented areas might appear slightly darker. On approximately day three, patients will begin to peel. The first signs of peeling usually begin around the mouth and chin areas. By day six or day seven patients will be done peeling. Keeping the skin moisturized can help make the peeling tolerable. Whatever you do, do not pick or peel the sloughing skin, let it come off on its own.

Chemical Peels Consultations
We believe consultations are very important when considering any skin treatment. Our consultations give us the opportunity to get to know you and understand exactly what you are looking to achieve with your skin. At your consultation you will meet with one medical aesthetician who will put together a treatment plan along with product recommendations for you to consider.
