How to Reduce Wrinkles with Juvederm XC

Want to reduce wrinkles and fine lines?

At WIFH, we carry many of the Juvederm facial fillers (Juvederm XC, Voluma and Volbella). In this post we’ll focus just on Juvederm XC which we believe is the best option for treating lines and wrinkles on the lower face like the laugh lines around your mouth. It also does a great job in enhancing and adding volume to your lips. Juvederm XC is a hyaluronic acid filler, and the “XC” means each facial filler has lidocaine mixed in for a comfortable injection.

We also use a topical numbing cream to provide even more comfort on top of the lidocaine already mixed into the filler; they really are painless. It takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes to complete the injection process and the results are immediate, but it can take several days for all of the swelling to go away, so be sure to plan ahead if you have an event that you are getting ready for. We advise patients to have filler done at least 2 weeks ahead of any event they are preparing for.

Juvederm for Lower Face

With Juvederm XC fillers, we are able to smooth away or fill the laugh lines or parentheses, running from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth. Softening your laugh lines, while subtle, really helps to bring back your vibrant and youthful look. We can also use Juvederm to correct the marionette lines, which are the lines from the corners of the mouth running down to the chin area.

There are many things we can correct with facial fillers, depending on what you are trying to correct. We have several other fillers to choose from to restore your youthful appearance. Facial fillers are often called the liquid face lift because they offer dramatic results without the expense and downtime of surgery. The results you get with fillers are also very natural.

Juvederm for Lips

At WIFH, we also use Juvederm XC to augment the lips. Since Juvederm is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, it helps to add volume and hydration while maintaining the natural shape of your lips using the body’s own moisture. Putting Juvederm in your lips will not give you duck lips, this is a common misconception.

The beauty of using fillers to add volume is you can use as much or as little as you want to get the look you are after. As we are injecting you will have a mirror and you will be able to tell us when you are satisfied with the look. Lips do tend to swell, but not to worry it dissipates fairly quickly over several days.

For this reason we recommend planning ahead when scheduling your injectables so that you have a couple weeks for any swelling or bruising to go away. Juvederm provides lasting results because of the way hyaluronic acid binds to water. You will love the naturally plump look of your lips after Juvederm!

After your Juvederm injection, you will have swelling for several days and as long as 10 days following treatment. There is always a chance of bruising, so we recommend limiting alcohol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oils, or any medicines/supplements that might thin your blood and make you more prone to bruising.

This is also another reason why we encourage patients to plan ahead when scheduling their fillers. While most of our patients don’t bruise this isn’t a promise we can make. So if you are getting ready for an event or occasion, give yourself a couple of weeks.

Juvederm usually lasts about 6 months, although some patients indicate it lasts longer for them. Because it is made of hyaluronic acid your body will gradually absorb it over time, so how long it lasts will depend on how quickly your body metabolizes it. What you should expect is to love the results you get with Juvederm.

As always, visit or call WIFH today to set up your free consultation, and find out how you can reduce signs of aging with Juvederm XC fillers!

How much is your juvaderm XC? I have $180 in brilliant distinction program… could tgat amount be used toward my injection?

Lindsay Spires

a syringe of Juvederm XC $495 and yes you could use your Brilliant Distinctions voucher of $180 towards it. Please let us know if you have additional questions or if you would like to schedule.

The number of syringes you may need is based on the severity of your lines, the areas you want treated and how much correction you would like to see. One syringe can do a nice job at softening the lines around the mouth, but if your lines are fairly deep or if you have other areas you would like to correct 2 syringes may be necessary. A consultation would be a good way to figure out how many syringes you might need. If you would like to send over a picture we could do a quick assessment based on your photo. Let us know how we can help.
