Dr. Kulkin Set to Retire March 31, 2020

Table of Contents

Since 1982 I’ve practiced medicine in Atlanta.  I started in Obstetrics and Gynecology, delivering almost 3,000 babies and being one of the first physicians internationally to use lasers in surgery.  I was fortunate to recognize the application of cosmetic lasers and how important they were to help patients look their best.  Starting WIFH in 2002, when my friends and colleagues just couldn’t understand what I was doing, I had a vision that lasers were the ‘next great thing’ in medical science.  Of course, only Plastic Surgeons were doing this work back then, but someone needed to change the way the industry delivered that service. Since that time, with the help of an amazing, dedicated staff, we have built WIFH to what it is today, a leader in cosmetic procedures, winning numerous Best of Atlanta awards and being the go-to place for men and women not only in the Southeast but from around the globe. Our core principle has always been ‘do the right thing for the patient every time’ and that has served us and our dedicated patients, like you, very well.

I have had the privilege and honor to take care of so many amazing people.  I’ve enjoyed the minutes to hours spent with each of you.  Like everything else in life, all good things must come to an end and I am fortunate to announce that I will retire from Medical Practice on March 31, 2020.  I do this with a huge smile on my face and know the memories will last a lifetime!  I can’t thank each of you enough for trusting me and allowing me into your lives.

As you can imagine, leaving this 24/7 labor of love and staff that have become my family is not easy.  I had to search for more than a year to find the right person I could trust with the legacy of WIFH.
Fortunately, I’ve found the perfect person in Dr. Paul Cox.  Many of you have already had the
opportunity to meet him since he arrived at the beginning of January. Dr. Cox believes anti-aging and
feeling and looking your best is multi-dimensional. And he takes this approach with every patient he
sees. It’s not a surprise that everyone has welcomed him like he’s been here from the beginning. He’s
already drawing quite the following for injectables and Smartlipo. I could not be prouder.

Like me, Dr. Cox was one of the first physicians in Atlanta trained in Smartlipo back in 2007. He
performed Smartlipo at Blue Medspa from 2007-2011 and at LaserMed in Alpharetta from 2011-2017.
He was featured in the national magazine Genre in September 2008 for his Smartlipo work. You may
have also seen him featured in several local publications including The Atlantan, Piedmont Review, Life and Style “Top Docs”, as well as Best Self Magazine. He is also a regular guest on the WSB radio show “Atlanta Living” hosted by the iconic Belinda Skelton. His considerable experience and passion are just what WIFH needs as it enters this next chapter.

Once again, thank you for allowing me to be part of your treatment team and I leave WIFH hoping we
can all continue to age gracefully.

Most appreciatively

Jay M Kulkin, MD
