How Much Does it Cost to Remove a Tattoo

One of the most common questions asked about tattoo removal is: How much does it cost to remove a tattoo? followed closely by How many treatments are typically needed?, What is the cost per treatment or package?, and Does the size of the tattoo matter?

At WIFH, we are here to answer your tattoo removal questions and fill you in on what you should know when considering the cost of tattoo removal and whether or not the process will be worth it to you.

Understanding the Cost of Laser Tattoo Removal

Perhaps the first thing to keep in mind is that removing your tattoo is much more expensive than having one put on. So if you can avoid tattoo removal in the first place, you’ll save a lot of money! However, we understand tattoo removal is sometimes necessary, and though the cost can be high, certain factors will affect the price of tattoo removal.

While many elements might determine the price, the biggest factors are the size of the tattoo, whether the tattoo is only black or includes color, and the number of treatments you will need in order to get rid of it. Here’s the scoop on the cost of laser tattoo removal:

  1. The larger the tattoo the more you pay. This might seem pretty self-explanatory, but larger tattoos require more time to remove. Expect to pay more for larger tattoos.
  2. Black tattoos cost less to remove. When color is present during the course of treatment, your laser practitioner will need to use specific dye hand pieces to directly target the color or colors present in your tattoo. What’s more is the color hand pieces have to be replaced frequently and are rather expensive, thus it costs more to remove tattoos with color in them.
  3. If you need more treatments, tattoo removal will cost more. When it comes to tattoo removal, many facilities charge per session, and some offer packages. In our experience at WIFH, most tattoos will need at least 10 treatments for best results, which is why we offer prices for packages of 10 for tattoo removal.
  4. Packages of 10 at WIFH cost anywhere from $950 to $3,500 depending on tattoo color and size. It is also our policy that in the event your tattoo does not need all 10 treatments included in the package; we will refund you for the unused treatments. If your tattoo requires more than 10 treatments you can pay on a session by session basis after completing your purchased package.
