Skin rejuvenation is one of the most asked-for skin treatments. Who wouldn’t want to see their skin rejuvenated, right? Treatments that rejuvenate the skin help to slow or reverse the signs of aging, making the skin feel and look more youthful, healthy, and glowing.
Three of the most preferred skin rejuvenation treatments at WIFH are Microneedling with Growth Factor, HydraFacial, and IPL/PhotoFacial. If you’re thinking about a skin rejuvenation treatment, take a look at these three options. We think they are three of the best skin rejuvenation treatments out there.
Microneedling with Growth Factor
Microneedling’s technical definition is fractional collagen induction therapy. With this skin rejuvenation treatment, a handheld powered device with a cluster of tiny, microscopic needles is used to pass painlessly over the skin to create micro channels, or tiny puncture wounds that initiate the skin’s natural healing process. In order to heal our skin, the body produces collagen and elastin fibers, which are the building blocks to skin tissue. As we age the amount of collagen and elastin in our skin naturally begins to deplete, so by igniting this healing response with microneedling we are able to replenish this loss, which in turn re-plumps the skin smoothing away fine lines and wrinkles.
Most patients are happy to hear that with microneedling we are able to treat all the way up to the lower bottom lash. The area under our eyes tends to show more age because it’s so much thinner than the rest of the skin on our faces. There are very few treatments that can treat this area, so microneedling is a great option for people looking to reduce aging under the eye.

Microneedling requires minimal downtime compared to some of the laser skin resurfacing treatment available, but for the best results, you’ll need a series of treatments. Once you have completed a series you will want to have 1 or 2 treatments per year just to maintain results.
Though most patients notice their skin feeling firmer and looking healthier within two weeks following treatment, the collagen production each microneedling treatment initiates can take up to 6 weeks to complete, so even after you finish your last treatment you won’t see full results for about 6 more weeks.
Using a growth factor during your microneedling treatments is also key to achieving the best results. Our bodies naturally make growth factor, it helps us maintain healthy skin cells as well as repair skin cell damage. It also helps to increase skin laxity and firmness. So, while your body is making its own growth factor to heal the wounds placed in the skin from your microneedling treatment we also infuse a lab created human growth factor back in to the skin during treatment as well as at the completion of your treatment. By applying it to the surface it meets the growth factor that your body is sending to the wounds from inside, basically sandwiching in the growth factors and drastically speeding up the healing time and providing better results.
As we get older our skin tends to dry out, and we need nourishing skin treatments to help restore the loss. Hydrafacial is a perfect choice for hydrating and rejuvenating the skin. It is a multi-step facial where we cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and then nourish the skin with hydrating peptides and serums. You can also choose to add various peels and light therapy to your hydrafacial to address all of your skin’s needs.

With any skin rejuvenation treatment a series of treatments is necessary to get your skin in the best health, and after that you can move to more of a maintenance regimen. HydraFacials are great for routine maintenance of the skin or to refresh your skin right before an important event.
As you get older, you may find that your time in the sun begins to show on your skin in the form of sunspots, or maybe you call them age spots. Whatever you want to call them, IPL (intense pulsed light therapy) or PhotoFacial, is a great option to treat not only unwanted pigmentation but also redness caused by rosacea and facial vessels (those little broken capillaries). The intense pulsed light technology uses multiple wavelengths of light with specialized filters to deliver just the right energy to treat specific skin conditions. Pigmented areas absorb the light energy, causing brown spots to turn darker before they begin flaking off the skin. IPL skin rejuvenation treatment also helps with fine lines/wrinkles, skin tone, and texture.
IPL can be used on any area of the body. Arms, hands and chests often show a lot of sun damage and can make the skin look old and tired. Removing that pigment allows the skin to look more youthful. Keep in mind, IPL is only safe for skin types I-III.

The specific skin issues you are looking to treat with IPL will determine the number of treatments you will need. For pigmentation, we usually recommend a series of 3 treatments. However, treating rosacea or redness typically requires about 6 treatments for best results. Once you complete a series you will want to have 1 to 2 treatments a year to maintain the results as well.
