Our 6 Favorite Beauty Med Spa Services for 2019

Best Med Spa Treatments Services for 2019

When it comes to med spa services, sometimes the list of possibilities can feel overwhelming. Beauty med spa treatments have become more and more popular over the years, and with that popularity, many more options have become available.

At WIFH, we love all the med spa services that we offer, but we decided to create a “short list” of services that are patient favorites. Here are six med spa beauty services that you should look at in 2019:

IPL PhotoFacial

IPL PhotoFacial is a rejuvenating med spa treatment that does an amazing job of getting rid of brown spots and redness on the skin. So if you suffer from sun damage, hyperpigmentation from old acne, or rosacea, IPL is a great procedure for you.

IPL stands for “intense pulsed light”, which very accurately describes the process of an IPL treatment. IPL delivers just the right amount of light energy during the treatment, allowing the melanin in the dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and vessels to absorb the light, thus beginning the destruction process. Then, over the next few days to a week, the dark spots darken and eventually flake off, leaving your skin clearer and younger-looking.

The number of treatments needed will depend on the specific skin condition you would like to treat. Typically brown spots need about 3 treatments, and rosacea can take 3 to 6 treatments, depending on the severity of the redness. This procedure also pairs well with microneedling with growth factor. The combination beautifully addresses texture and discoloration, leaving your skin smoother and more youthful and your confidence high.

Microneedling with Growth Factor

Speaking of, microneedling with growth factor is another great all-around rejuvenative treatment to try at a med spa. Microneedling is also called collagen induction therapy and for good reason. It’s a great way to improve texture and to prevent aging. Microneedling also helps to diminish acne scars by replumping the collagen in the acne scar depressions.

When you get a microneedling treatment, a device (Rejuvapen at WIFH) creates virtually invisible microchannels in the skin with tiny needles, thus initiating your body’s healing response and causing your skin to produce collagen and elastin, the building blocks of skin tissue. This process helps to rejuvenate and plump the skin, helping to treat many common skin issues like fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars.

Like most skin rejuvenation treatments, you will need a series of treatments for best results. It can take up to 6+ weeks post treatment for the collagen production cycle to complete, so even after your last treatment, it will be another 2 months or so before you are seeing the final results of your treatments. 4 treatments is usually the perfect number, unless of course you are correcting severe acne scars, which could take 8 or more treatments. Once you complete your series, we also advise having 1 to 2 treatments a year to maintain results.

Microdermabrasion Plus Micro Peel

The med spa beauty treatment Microdermabrasion and Micro Peel create the perfect exfoliation combo. When people think of a peel, they assume they will be shedding skin, and in many cases you do, but the micro peel is the no downtime peel, which means you will not experience any peeling or shedding of the skin afterwards.

A microdermabrasion treatment is done before applying the micro peel to remove all of the dead skin and allow for the peel to penetrate and work under the skin. This particular micro peel is made by Skinceuticals, which is known for their amazing skin care products and high-quality ingredients. This micro peel buffs and polishes the skin. This is one of our favorite treatments at WIFH, because it allows patients to enjoy a super quick, effective and corrective treatment (in and out in about 45 minutes), so it’s very easy to fit into a busy schedule.

HydraFacial

HydraFacial is understandably a patient favorite when it comes to med spa beauty treatments that we offer at WIFH. HydraFacial is a relaxing yet corrective facial. It cleanses, exfoliates, extracts congestion, and nourishes the skin. This treatment can be done right before an event to prep your skin, or as a maintenance facial to keep your skin healthy and bright. Patients leave our office feeling refreshed, and their skin is glowing and radiant.

Double Oxygen facial

The Double Oxygen Facial is literally a red carpet treatment: many celebs turn to this particular treatment when they are getting ready for big events. The Double Oxygen Facial is a perfect facial for congested and stressed, problematic skin. The oxygen cream loosens all the junk and debris inside the pores and makes extractions super easy and comfortable.  All of the congestion just slides right out of the pores. Talk about squeaky clean! The oxygen literally breathes new life into your skin, leaving it shiny, fresh, and luminous.

Botox and Cosmetic fillers

Of course, no list of med spa beauty treatments would be complete without including Botox and cosmetic fillers. Hands down: Botox and cosmetic fillers are the treatments that can truly turn back the clock. Botox is a great way to smooth away fine lines and wrinkles on the upper face in areas like the forehead, crows feet, and the ‘11’ between your brows. Very few people get Botox done just once and then never get it again. The addiction is real. Duration of results can vary, but on average, results last for approximately 3 to 4 months.

Cosmetic fillers, have evolved over the years. There is a filler for almost everything now. Voluma is a great way to lift and augment the cheek area. As we age, our cheeks tend to flatten just by sheer gravity. (Actually, everything drops as we age.) By lifting and creating cheeks again, Voluma lifts the lower face and restores that youthful curve. Voluma lasts for about 2 years, so while pricier than the others, the results do last a long time.

There are a host of fillers available for the lower face. And fillers aren’t just for people with severe lines and wrinkles. In fact, there is a filler to meet every need. Have fine “violin strings” on your cheeks? You can get a filler for that. Want to augment your lips? You can find fillers for that. There are so many options that we recommend you visit with your provider, so that they can understand what bothers you and what you are hoping to achieve. Together you can decide which filler you need. Depending on the injectable you choose, the results can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months.

So there you have it: our 6 favorite med spa beauty services to try in 2019! You can also call or visit WIFH for a free consultation or talk to your med spa provider about one of these services. Any one of these treatments will certainly leave you feeling refreshed and excited for the new year!
