The ideal candidate for Smartlipo is in good health, and not typically more than 25 pounds over ideal body weight. As with everything, there are always exceptions. Full figured individuals with smaller areas they want to get rid of, may also be a candidate for this procedure.
Smartlipo is not a weight loss program and as a result we will not perform the procedure for this reason. Smartlipo can be performed after your weight reduction. Smartlipo is designed to get rid of the bulges that you can't diet or exercise away with the added benefit of skin tightening. Many of our patients have reported dropping several dress sizes after having Smartlipo and implementing an exercise routine along with healthy eating.
We also will review your medical history, medications you are taking, allergies, alcohol and tobacco use at your visit. We do perform lab work, which is included in our fee, to rule out medical problems you may not be aware of. This is all to ensure we perform the procedure safely and get excellent results
Dr. Kulkin can tell you if you are a candidate when you come in for your consultation. While our consultations are complimentary, you will be asked to provide a credit card number to reserve your appointment time. This policy is in place to protect our schedule from "no-shows" and last minute cancellations. If you should need to cancel or reschedule your consultation appointment, we do request a 24-hour notice. No show appointments will be charged a fee of $100.
