Rosacea

Many of our patients who have had Rosacea for years believe this is the best procedure available to control facial redness!  If you suffer with Rosacea chances are you've had procedures that did little.  With our Rosacea treatment we can help you control this condition that frustrates so many of our patients.  Rosacea is a disease of the facial skin that is focused on the center of the face. This relatively unknown disease affects 13 million Americans. Rosacea's redness and/or bumps commonly start on the nose and spread outward to include the cheeks, chin and forehead. Left to run its course, Rosacea can worsen over time and even affect the eyelids and mucous membranes. It is a chronic illness, meaning you never really get rid of it, but you can control its spread and limit the long-term effect it has on your skin and your appearance with our laser Rosacea treatments.

Redness that looks like a blush.
This flushing of the skin with a spreading redness is caused by expanded blood vessels beneath the skin.

Pimples without blackheads.
The reason rosacea is often labeled "adult acne" is that in some ways, it resembles acne. Closer examination may show solid, red, inflamed pimples or pimples solidly filled with pus (pustules). However, unlike teen acne, you probably won't see blackheads and whiteheads. Also, unlike rosacea, acne can be present on the neck, back and shoulders.

Thin red lines just beneath the surface of the skin.
These tiny, broken blood vessels, called telangiectasia (tel-AN-jee-ek-TAY-zee-yuh) are often invisible because of the flushing, blushing or constant redness rosacea causes. When the redness goes away, the tiny red lines are left behind, clearly visible.

Our Rosacea treatment is called Laser Genesis, or Laser Facial, to help control the redness and flushing of Rosacea. This is extremely common and we've had very good Rosacea treatment results reducing redness that may last 1-2 years. This painless procedure uses "massaging" laser energy to reduce redness from small broken blood vessels and uneven brown spots on your skin and gives the skin a healthy, smooth glowing appearance. We include an added bonus in this procedure by using a second light source in our Rosacea treatment called Intense Pulsed Light or IPL (the same instrument used for Fotofacial) which helps to painlessly reduce sun damage and brown pigmentation on the face.  Our patients enjoy the pulsations of laser energy on their skin. You'll see the uneven pigmentation slowly reduce and your skin lighten slightly over a series of 5 treatments. We use one of these visits to actually close the small facial vessels that feed the red areas on the face assuring a more lasting result. Laser Genesis/Facial should be used in conjunction with Glycolic Peels and home skin care.

Cost: $1750 for 5 sessions done every 2 weeks including FREE PhotoFacial with Intense Pulsed Light to help reduce brown and red pigmentation from sun damage!
